The Easter period has always held a very special place in the hearts of the Adkins family. We have always gone camping, almost every year since I was born. We go with family and friends, stay out in the open space, take in the clean green country air through our noses and enjoy a fair bit too much chocolate.
For this Easter weekend, we headed to a place just outside of the town of Kenilworth called Kookaburra Park. Nestled amongst the greenest of hillsides, the campsite was picturesque, but it had one major problem – the mud.
The week prior to our arrival had been filled with constant rainfall, which in turn made things rather squishy and slippery. When your camper trailer begins to slowly slide down the hill, you know for certain that it is wet enough.

Despite the terrible ground quality, the weekend went off without any major hiccups. It hardly rained, our drinks stayed ice cold, and there was only one minor water leak in Mum and Dad’s camper.
Some of the photos you’ll see in this post illustrate the sheer beauty of this part of south-east Queensland. It’s pretty much as gorgeous as it will ever get. Rolling green pastures, bright blue skies, running creeks and crisp, clean air. It is truly wonderful. Take a look below at some of my average pictures!

For those who may be wondering, I’m currently using a Fujifilm XS-10 mirrorless camera with a 16-80mm lens, which has resulted in some pretty gorgeous shots, I must say!
Easter might not be super special for everyone, but for us Adkins folk, it’s a chance to catch up with family and friends and to (possibly) drink too much.
It’s about the nature, of the warm campfires and the camp-cooked meals.
I can’t wait for next year. It’s always just so damn good.
Love,
Zak
